Let’s be real – being a newbie is tough.

It can be embarrassing + scary all at the same time!

But it won’t be forever + the sooner you get moving towards your goals, the less time you’ll spend in that cringy period!

So, if you’re just starting out, here are some of the things I did in the earlier days of my public speaking career to keep rolling along… that you can implement too!

How I transformed into a confident public speaker:

  • I practiced + rehearsed
  • I moved past my fear + I put myself out there
  • I was willing to be a beginner + to learn, to look foolish + improve
  • I asked more experienced people for help + advice + was open to feedback (even when it was uncomfortable)
  • I didn’t give up, even after I screwed up
  • I took bigger risks to speak on bigger stages
  • I committed to it, speaking as often as I could, where + whenever I could
  • I worked shows that I didn’t love in order to gain experience + get closer to where I wanted to be
  • I believed in myself

The last one is the MOST important one! Believing in myself was the key to how I transformed into a confident public speaker.

If I – a former super shy kid with the nickname “Mouse” can do it – you can definitely do it!
